Mental health services

  • We provide a wide range of treatment and support to young people, adults and older people experiencing mental illness both as inpatients and within the community. This includes treatment in secure and specialised settings.

Community health services

  • Our diverse range of community health services provide support and treatment to both adults and children. We deliver this care in community hospitals, health centres, GP surgeries and in people’s homes.

Learning disabilities services

  • We provide crisis support and inpatient services and our community learning disability teams work in partnership with local councils to provide assessment and support for adults with learning disabilities.

Social care

  • We provide personalised social care support to people with a range of needs, including people with learning disabilities or mental illness, supporting people to live independently.

Due to an exciting new partnership with Dementia UK a new and exciting opportunity has arisen for two registered nurses to join Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) as Band 6 Admiral Nurses.

The primary focus of the Admiral Nurse role is to provide and influence the clinical leadership and delivery of person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care across the North East Essex Locality and supporting the best practice the staff across EPUT. The Admiral Nurse team will improve the experience of carers and families affected by dementia by providing support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The service will operate as a partnership between Dementia UK and EPUT, as the host organisation and the Admiral Nurse team will be based within The King’s Wood Centre as part of the ‘Dementia and Memory Assessment Pathway’ and the ‘Dementia and Frailty’ service.

Under the supervision of a Band 7 Admiral Nurse Clinical Team Lead, the Band 6 Admiral Nurses will deliver evidence based dementia care and support improvements in the experience for families affected by dementia and support the delivery of key quality and performance indicators relating to dementia care, including the experience of families.

The successful applicants will be NMC registered with post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and their carers/supporters in different settings, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education. Experience of recent involvement in practice/service development is essential, along with the ability to operate effectively with a constantly developing relationship with key stakeholders and associated agencies.
