Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. We are the Lead Employer for Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) which aims to transform, develop and deliver health care services in the community.

Following an NHSI initiative to establish 29 Pathology networks across England the University Hospital of North Midlands is currently working closely with Mid and East Cheshire NHS Trusts to establish a Pathology network across Staffordshire and Cheshire.


We're looking for people to join our Linen Services Bank

The hours would be on a shift basis:  either 5.50am - 13.50pm or 12.30pm - 8.30pm.

Linen services staff make sure that hospital departments have stocks of clean uniforms and linen, such as sheets and towels.

The successful applicants will be joining a team of highly motivated and skilled individuals within Leighton Hospital’s laundry.

The laundry provides linen to Leighton Hospital and also provides the linen requirements to all Shropshire hospitals. The Linen Services department has a progressive outlook and has recently achieved full BS14065 HTM 01-04 certification together with the previously held ISO9001-2015 certification.

As a linen services assistant, you will be :

  • Receiving and delivering linen to and from hospital departments
  • sort items according to how they will be washed or cleaned
  • operate industrial washing and dry cleaning equipment
  • dry and finish using steam cabinets, steam and vacuum presses or by hand
  • fold and pack linen
  • keep records of stock levels

Linen services staff need to be:

  • able to follow instructions and procedures carefully
  • very health and safety aware
  • physically fit for lifting, packing and moving trolleys
  • able to work in a hot, busy environment
  • able to work in a team
  • reliable and punctual
