South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity within the Planning, Performance and Forecasting Team, for a Planning Assistant Team Leader.

The role:

  • This is a key role to supporting accurate planning and meeting all challenges of delivering emergency and other healthcare services for the Trust; They will be responsible for efficient resource planning to ensure the service has the right staff, both internal and external, with the right skills in the right place to meet patient demand and deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at all times. They will also be required to respond to staff requests using a variety of media, deal with complex issues, liaise with third party suppliers and ensure workforce planning meets the Trust’s targets for service delivery.

  • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, and able to supervise the day to day running of the Planning Department, ensuring the most cost effective and efficient use of supply to meet demand, and deputise for the Private Provider Planning Manager when required Supervise the Planning team and use and maintain the workforce management system to enable the Department to meet its goals and objectives.

  • Data entry, analysis and information extraction. Provision of expert guidance, assistance and support to managers and staff in all matters relating to workforce planning.

  • Review demand on an hourly basis on the bespoke forecasting tool to ensure level of optimum resources are maintain.

  • Applicants will require experience of managing their own workloads, responding to tight deadlines, the ability to work under pressure and keeping organised when multiple activities are required.
