An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Division B governance team as a governance & risk facilitator.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Division B currently consists of a diverse range of care groups; emergency medicine, HEMS, medicine, ophthalmology, pathology, and specialist medicine. HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) is a new care group within the division as the responsibility of operational management and governance of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) transferred to UHS at the end of 2018. This presents a unique opportunity for the post holder to inform and develop the clinical governance processes of HEMS from an early stage which is an essential element of the transfer. As the governance lead on this, the post holder will be required to travel to Thruxton air base semi regularly to attend meetings and meet with staff. Experience of a pre hospital environment would be advantageous but not essential.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Governance & Risk Facilitator you would be responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive reporting culture across the division, whilst ensuring that learning is embedded to minimise risks to patients, staff and visitors. Other duties would include investigating patient safety incidents, as well as supporting and advising clinicians to implement change, develop policies and documents, and manage risk. The role is fast paced with no two days the same, therefore the ability to prioritise will be key. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills will also be essential to ensure we can provide assurance of our governance, both internally, and to external regulators.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Applications are welcomed from both clinical and non-clinical professionals who are passionate about driving forward the governance agenda within the division. We are seeking someone who is both knowledgeable and highly skilled in delivering excellence within healthcare, particularly in relation to patient safety, patient experience, and risk management.
