Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Nurse / Clinical Practitioners

Band 7

Full / Part Time

£33,222 - £43,041 pro rata

 

As we settle into our new state-of-the-art Hospital, an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Nurse Practitioner team.  We have been celebrating 100 years of innovative practice this year and the ANP / ACP role is pivotal in the further development of our cardiothoracic surgical services for the future. The ANP / ACP role is developing all the time and we need key people who wish to develop their skills to a higher level to come and join the team.

 

We are seeking knowledgeable, innovative and enthusiastic cardiothoracic practitioners who can demonstrate, through their knowledge and commitment the four pillars of advanced practice, and their ability to work within the advanced nursing team progressing patients along their pre and post-operative cardiac surgery pathway.

 

To apply for a position you should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a cardiothoracic setting at Band 6 or Band 7 level.

 

Under the leadership of the lead (ANP), you will work with a team of senior clinical practitioners to provide a 7 day week service. The post will be ward based but an element of cross cover will be required to ensure all surgical patients are covered 7 days a week.

 

The Cardiothoracic Surgery ANP / ACP will take an active role in educating and supporting members of the nursing, junior doctor and multidisciplinary team through formal and informal educational opportunities as well as seeking to further their own professional development. Experience of teaching and educational delivery would be advantageous.

 

Candidates should be educated to degree level and ideally possess advanced skills in clinical assessment and non - medical prescribing qualifications to masters level or, have the willingness and ability to undertake both.

 

Successful candidates must be highly motivated and be able to work autonomously to promote high standards of nursing care. Ability to use your own initiative along with excellent communication, clinical and organisational skills is essential.
