The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services from one acute hospital in Guildford and two adult community services hospitals across Surrey. The Trust serves a population of over 330,000 across south west Surrey. We are a specialist tertiary cancer centre, offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services to a population of up to two million.

A regional cancer centre for Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire, it is also a tertiary specialist centre for ENT and Maxillofacial surgery. It attracts referrals from across the whole country for other specialties (i.e. urology). The Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit (key-hole surgery) is one of only three such training units in the UK.

The Trust has strong links with the nearby University of Surrey and staff are well supported if they wish to undertake further study. As well as this, staff are able to develop and enhance skills and knowledge by undertaking post-qualification support and training at the hospital’s dedicated Education Centre. These are just some of the training and development opportunities available to staff.


BANK - Ward Receptionist

Band 2 - £18,669 per annum, pro rata, incl HAS

Job Type: BANK/Short Term

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and hardworking people to join our Medical ward Reception team. This environment will provide successful candidates with opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge on our busy, medical wards. Motivated candidates will be supported to work with the clinical teams providing clerical support to the wards and medical staff.

Main duties will be to answer the telephone and carry out general reception duties.

Suitable candidates will ideally have/be: 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Friendly and Hardworking
  • Good IT skills
  • Enthusiasm to help others.

This is a Bank position offering ad-hoc shifts providing annual leave and sickness cover.
