Leeds Community Healthcare is delighted to have been awarded the contract to deliver the 0-19 public health agenda for the city. This is an exciting and far reaching opportunity for enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking Specialist Public Health Nurses to join our innovative and award winning team, as we recruit to our Public Health Integrated Nursing Service.
Our service is very proud to announce that we have been accredited with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Gold Award and have recently acquired the ChatHealth confidential texting service for 11-19 year olds enabling them to seek support from a specialist public health nurse.
Within your role you will have the opportunity to deliver commissioned pathways of care within a 0-19 skill mix team, working together with key stakeholders to improve the health outcomes of children and young people within Leeds.
The job offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping the 0-19 service enabling you to bring your innovation, motivation and enthusiasm to the role. There are many development opportunities available starting with a thorough and comprehensive induction and preceptorship programme, service wide training programme and the option to become a Champion in key aspects of service delivery. We are also pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for practitioners to complete the differing field module - to be able to train in the alternative field of School Nursing or Health Visiting. This offers a fantastic opportunity to work as a 0-19 practitioner to meet the health needs of children across the whole age range. Practitioners currently completing the training have stated this is "A fantastic and challenging opportunity to widen my thinking and learn new skills".

To be eligible to apply for this role you will be a Registered Nurse / Midwife with a Specialist Community Practitioner qualification in Public Health Nursing (School Nursing or Health Visiting).
You will need to possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. We are looking for practitioners with a strong commitment to team work and to be able to deliver compassionate and high quality care.
In order to support our staff to achieve a better work life balance we offer flexible and agile working options after 6 months in post.
Whilst successful applicants will primarily work within one team, all applicants may be required to work at other locations across the city to ensure equitable service delivery where required. Our core service hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5pm.
