A new opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Administrator to join our West Essex Integrated Urgent Care Team where you will support the smooth running of all the West Essex Extended Access locations by providing effective administrative support to the Extended Access Service Manager and West Essex. Extended Access provide routine GP and Nurse Appointments to all patients in the West Essex area during the evenings and weekends.

The hours for this role are 22.5 per week, you will be required to work varying start and finish times to cover in / out of hours and weekends on a rota basis; you will be part of the team on call rota.

 

The salary for this role £12,000 per annum

HUC provides accessible and high quality Integrated Urgent Care services to nearly 3 million patients across a range of counties, including Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire and Essex. When patients are ill and need the right medical attention, HUC provides the NHS111 and Out of Hours GP service.

 

The Role:

You will provide administrative support to the West Essex extended access service Management team, booking clinic appointments, doing referrals and dealing with all necessary correspondence.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Analysis of appointments, DNA (Did not attend) appointment types, reason for appointments, fill rate of appointments.
  • Support the maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Production of reports on a daily basis to include, DNA’s, issues with the previous days clinics and present to Service manager daily, tasking surgeries with DNA reports.
  • Check actions on shift reports and chase relevant departments.
  • Support the rota team with filling shifts and support the managers with planning for public holiday staffing
  • Support to managers to keep contingency processes up to date
  • Support the services during out of hours
  • Responsible for ensuring health and Safety and Fire safety of the bases
  • Supporting the Service Manager with Base Audits
  • Responsibility for ensuring all bases are stocked with equipment and stationary
  • Working as part of the EA on-call team – 1 week in 4 or more if desired.

 

 

Role Expectations:

  • Previous experience working in a GP Practice.
  • Previous experience in an administrative and support role (min 12 months)
  • Car driver essential 
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge including MS Outlook, word and Excel. 
  • Ability to organise time efficiently and multitask.
  • Self-motivated and have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and can do attitude, willingness to support the service in the out of hours period
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong team skills &  a willingness to learn
