We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team within Older Peoples’ Mental Health in Peterborough. The established team comprises of community psychiatric nurses, support workers and consultant psychiatrists.

We are a friendly, proactive team with a strong plan for the further development of the provision of crisis support to older people.

A flexible working style will be required, providing a 7 day crisis response and home treatment service, working shifts 8am-8pm, Monday - Sunday.

The candidate’s role would include using generic and occupational therapy specific skills to assess and implement treatment plans for older adults with mental health needs. The role will include developing the use of evidence-based models of practice (Model of Human Occupation) within this context of the crisis team. This role would also provide opportunities for the candidate to further develop specialist occupational therapy knowledge and skills, as well as building on generic skills.

The role will involve multidisciplinary working with both mental and physical health staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times and have a passion for working with older people in the community. This post is open to professionals with the right attributes to enhance a team. There will also be opportunities to be involved in wider directorate endeavours.
