Senior Anatomical Pathology Technician (SAPT) Band 6

37.5 Hrs per Week

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Mortuary team. This post will be based at Whitechapel but on occasion the successful candidate may be required to visit any of the other sites. The post holder will be required to assist in all aspects of Mortuary Services including post mortem provision for adults, perinatal/paediatric cases and care of the deceased.

You will be the dedicated training lead for the trainee APT’s ensuring they reach the standard required to pass the level 3 diploma. Potential applicants should pay particular attention to the Job Description and Person Specification for this post to ensure meeting the respective criteria.

The mortuary services at Barts Health comprise of one mortuary facility based at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel and 4 other deceased holding units at St Bartholomew’s, Newham, Whipps Cross and Mile End.

We have wide range of diagnostic specialities due to an acute teaching hospital environment and diversity of the local population. We have a modern facilities close to underground and DLR services. The service performs approximately 500 post mortems Per annum and is regional referral centre for perinatal cases. The Mortuary is CPA/ UKAS and HTA accredited.
