Are you committed to providing excellent patient care in a busy, fast paced environment? Do you also want to develop your clinical skills? If so Imperial has ideal posts available on St Mary’s Hospital site within sexual health & contraception, with the scope to develop your career within the trust.

We have a band 6 posts available on our walk-in sexual health department. Posts are full-time.

The Jefferiss Wing is a busy, dynamic level 3 integrated sexual health clinic, seeing between 60-100 patients each day. A wide range of services are offered, including screening for sexually transmitted infections, contraception including LARC, nurse-led follow up and treatment clinics, services for people who have been sexually assaulted, and many other specialist services. Our patients attend with a variety of sexual health needs; requiring care and comprehensive assessment and treatment by both medical and nursing teams. The nursing team comprises of a consultant nurse, lead nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, specialty nurses, staff nurses and senior healthcare assistants.

The department suits dynamic and motivated candidates who want to work in a fast paced environment and advance their sexual health and contraceptive nursing skills. Candidates will line manage a small team of staff nurses, nurse associates and senior healthcare assistants, and work independently as a specialty nurse seeing patients presenting with uncomplicated STIs and contraception including sub dermal implants and supplying/administering medication via PGDs.

Candidates will be educated to degree level and ideally have two years post registration experience, a minimum of 1-years sexual health and contraception experience and a teaching qualification (mentorship).

The team is passionate and committed to delivering excellence in healthcare, so in return we will support you to develop you’re career. Successful candidates on appointment, who do not already hold DFSRH, letter of competence in Sub dermal Implants and STIFIntermediate will be supported in doing so. In addition, there are also opportunities to develop through Imperial’s award winning leadership programme and the trainee advanced clinical practitioner MSc pathway.
