Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust was established in April 2002 and authorised as a Foundation Trust on 1st December 2007. The Trust provides health and wellbeing services for a population of around 1.5million people. The services provided include community nursing, health visiting and a range of therapy services including physiotherapy, podiatry and speech & language. The Trust specialises in inpatient and community mental health services. Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust covers the whole of the county and employs around 7,000 members of staff across more than 400 sites.


The Central Podiatry Team is looking to employ a motivated and enthusiastic podiatrist to join the Team .Both the Band 5 Podiatrist positions are permanent contracts. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Band 5 Podiatrist to work within area Central locality. The successful candidate would work along-side Band 7 Highly Specialist Clinical Podiatrist, Band 6 Specialist Podiatrists,

The principal role of the Band 5 is for the assessment and treatment of a caseload of patients which includes complex cases, in line with experience and ability, as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate supervision, evidencing high level problem solving and reasoning skills and independence of judgment.

Post holders will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, delivery evaluation and discharge of evidence based podiatry intervention in appropriate locations, for example patients’ homes and other community locations.

The post holder will be expected to promote health and reduce inequalities for individuals, families and communities, optimise opportunities for health promotion and health education to enable patients to maximise their potential in terms of health and social well-being. Using motivational interviewing and negotiation skills where appropriate and to make referrals as appropriate into the behaviour change support services e.g. Stop Smoking and Weight Management Programmes.

Currently between Monday and Friday, potentially becoming a 7 day service in future

Please note: This post is subject to an enhanced DBS Clearance. As part of the pre-employment checks, successful candidates will be required to pay for their own DBS check at a cost of £50. Deductions will be taken from the first 3 months salary.
