Exciting Opportunities for Nurses - Welwyn Garden City

We are inviting Nurses currently working with PGDs, with Minor Illness & Minor Injury assessment experience, to join the organisation to support the delivery of the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Service for Hertfordshire.

Following the successful delivery of a pilot, run in partneship with our commissioners, to provide clinical support for care home within North & East Herts, we are offering bank and contracted hours.

Who are we?

HUC provides accessible and high quality Integrated Urgent Healthcare services to nearly 3 million patients across a range of counties, including Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire and Essex.

When patients are ill and need the right medical attention, they use ourNHS111 serviceto access medical advice, assessment and treatment. We also provide a range of other healthcare services to support patients including Out of Hours GP service and running urgent care centres.

The Role:

As part of the Clinical Advisory Service (CAS), you will form part of a wider multi disciplinary team. You will assist with the smooth running of the contact centre and clinical hub, delivering an efficient and competent level of accurate patient assessment, outside pathways. This includes, signposting to outside agencies and where appropriate to the correct clinical service, and utilise knowledge of PGD’s and clinician expertise.

Job Summary:

Based from our NHS111 contact centre in Welwyn Garden City, covering the service Friday to Monday, 1pm- 9pm.

Role Expectations:

We are looking for qualified clinicians to support HUC's delivery of outstanding patient care.

You must be a Registered Nurse and have:

  • Top to Toe assessment qualificationor relevant experience
  • Minor Illness and Minor Injury qualification desirable
  • Ability and experience of working with Patient Group Directives
  • Confident in making decisions autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Adastra and SystmOne an advantage

Current Pay Rates:

Hourly rates of pay are dependent on times and days worked, varying from £25.00 – £29.70 plus bank holiday enhancements.

On-boarding Process:

If successful, you will be paid to complete a full day’s induction, which will include system training, followed by a number of buddy shifts in varied settings to prepare you for the role.
