Rose Ward are looking for Mental Health, RGN & Learning Disability Staff Nurses committed and able to integrate within an established multi-disciplinary team. You will need to be enthusiastic and conscientious in providing an evidence based approach to patient centered care. We will accept applications from General Registered Nurses, Mental Health Nurses and Learning Disability Nurses.

You will be compassionate, empathetic and sensitive in your approach when working with patients, families and carers. Rose ward is a Sub-Acute inpatient ward providing further assessment and treatment for patients with more complex dementia diagnosis and needs. We are a very motivated and skilled team which gained a "Good" rating by the CQC in 2018. Our length of stay for our patients averages at about 78 days which is a reflection on the highly skilled staff that work on this ward.

Rose ward has many projects and groups for you to participate in to help our patients. Dementia Care Mapping for our patients is a daily occurrence and we also have an Observation and Engagement project group which focuses on patients with more complex needs. We regularly have fun days whereby staff and patients enjoy different activities from fete's to visits by miniature donkeys!

As a Staff Nurse on Rose ward you will be able to undertake student mentor training and subsequently mentor student nurses. You will also be required to provide line management supervision for junior members of the team.

You will be supported in attending statutory and mandatory training, as well as other courses that will support you in your role. Your performance and development needs will be reviewed regularly through management and clinical supervision and the organisations appraisal process.

You will receive excellent physical health training opportunities due to wanting to enhance your knowledge and skills as a dementia specialist. Other opportunities include becoming a Dementia Care Mapper and receiving a recognised qualification from Bradford University.

Nurses who have recently qualified will receive a robust preceptorship pack and nurses wanting a change of career will be supported to enhance their transferable skills.

This post attracts a recruitment premium of £3000 for Mental Health Nurses (external candidates only). This is a one off payment with half paid on appointment and half paid after the completion of a satisfactory probation period (6 months). The premium is taxable. Please note that should you leave employment, or choose to move to an alternative post within the Trust that does not attract this recruitment premium, you will be required to reimburse all or some it, as follows: 100% of the value of the premium in the first 12 months; 50% of the value of the premium in the period 12 months to 2 years following appointment.

This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
