Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to commence from 01 October 2019 until 04 August 2020 at Rosie Maternity Hospital part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH).

CUH is a University teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre that offers particular experience in Laparoscopic, Endometriosis and benign Gynaecological Surgery, Reproductive Medicine, IVF, Gynaecological Oncology, Fetal Medicine, Uro-Gynaecology, Maternal Medicine, Labour ward management, Outpatient Hysteroscopy, Clinical Governance and Audit.

The successful candidate would be expected to utilise the experience provided to contribute to Service improvement projects and audits within the department.

The department enjoys close links with the University of Cambridge, Academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and opportunities to participate in research may be available to suitable applicants. There are also opportunities to provide formal teaching at the undergraduate University Medical School.

This post has an on-call commitment on the Middle Grade rota. This is a two tier of a four tier on-call rota with Senior House Officer support, and an on-site resident Senior Registrar as well as separate on-call Consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The post holder will however be expected to achieve a Royal College Advanced Training Module in an associated Specialist of interest to the successful candidate including Benign Gynaecological Surgery, Hysteroscopy and/or Gynaecological Oncology.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
