In September 2017, we announced that our Trust Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust and 2Gether NHS Foundation Trust (2gether) were planning to join. From October 2019, we hope to be one organisation providing integrated community mental health, physical health and learning disabilities services. The new Trust will be called Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

We are already working closely together but the benefits we really want for our communities can best be achieved if we become a single trust, delivering outstanding integrated physical and mental health care.

The aim of the proposed merger is to improve our services and ensure we are providing the most appropriate and seamless information, support and treatment for people with mental health issues, physical health problems or learning disabilities. It will mean we can help people as a ‘whole person’, not just separate conditions or symptoms. As healthcare professionals in the new Trust, you will be able to ensure better outcomes for service users which we know is really important to all clinical, medical and support professionals alike. For colleagues, it will also provide more opportunity to develop and realise your potential.

While our overall name will become Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, services in Herefordshire will be given their own, separate, name, which will be Herefordshire Mental Health and Learning Disability Services.

The details of the merger will be finalised early September and the Trusts hope to be one organisation from 1st October 2019.

Both Trusts are high performing with ‘good’ CQC ratings and strong financial foundations.


Community Staff Nurse

Band: 5

Salary: £23,023-£29,608

Base: North and South Forest ICT’s

Hours: Various hours available - Full time & part-time -22.5hrs (Flexible working patterns will be considered so long as the service can support the request)

Right now we are looking for caring and compassionate Community Staff Nurses who are looking for a new challenge and career development. As a Registered Nurse you will work as part of an Integrated Community Team alongside our MDT colleagues undertaking care of people in their homes across the diverse range of interventions and case management opportunities that community nursing offers.

To excel in this role you will require excellent communication skills, the courage to make clinical decisions and a willingness to develop your potential. You will require current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse, post-registration experience is helpful but not essential and we have an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses.

You need to be able to work part time or full time over a shift system which includes early and late shifts across 7 days including weekends and bank holidays.

We are a modern Trust, which means whilst on the go you’ll be equipped for mobile working (using a laptop and smart phone device); not only is this safer because you will have access all patient information at your fingertips, it also means you can complete records and any other patient paperwork in real time, so you can then focus all your attention on your next patient.
