Finance Officer

The finance department at Isabel Hospice is undergoing a transformation to position it as a digitally aligned, commercially focused and value adding department within the Hospice.

 We now have a great opportunity for a hard-working, well organised, highly analytical graduate studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g AAT) with a can-do attitude to join us within a dynamic and busy finance department. You will have lots of opportunities to be involved in exciting value adding projects within the department and the growing organisation.

 You will have experience of using sage (line 50/200) or other accounting systems, managing multiple ledgers and bank accounts and carrying out monthly financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess high level IT skills including knowledge of Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables and Macros). Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, along with a flexible approach, the ability to multi-task and build working relationships at all levels. You will be a member of a small, supportive and dynamic Finance team, where team work is essential in providing an exemplary accounting service for the Hospice.

 Key aspects of this role are:

  • Completing Balance sheet reconciliations in line with month end processes
  • Reconciliation and posting of bank, petty cash, credit cards and restricted income
  • Managing fixed asset register (currently transitioning to an electronic system)
  • Provide in-depth and value adding analysis to Budget Holders
  • Developing financial models to automate and assist with financial reporting
  • Provide cover for the Head Of Finance as required
