Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse Practitioners

Full or part time, Band 5

 

Ashford & St. Peters Hospitals Foundation Trust are looking for competent nurses able to support the pre-operative (Pre-op) assessment of patients prior to their date of surgery. The Pre-op team cover both Ashford & St. Peters hospitals; providing a One-Stop Shop facility (alongside our waiting list pool) for all patients surgical or orthopaedics.

Furthermore you will be working in a new innovative way with our new online pre-operative assessment service which allows patient to complete their Intragrated care pathway in the comfort of their own homes before attending their pre-operative assessment appointment.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team of experienced Pre-operative nurses. We look to ensure a quality focussed and safe assessment service for all patients. You would be providing nurse led complex and non-complex peri-operative risk assessment, undertaking a variety of skills and on-going competencies to assist in the smooth running and delivery of the service between both hospital sites within the trust.

You will need to have a minimum of two years recent experience in an acute setting (Either within a Surgical, a medicine or pre-assessment background), be able to use your own initiative, work well under pressure, and have a flexible attitude to your work. You need to have expanded clinical skills to ensure the provision of safe and effective patient care. You must also possess excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.
