40 hours per week (10 Programmed Activities) - Permanent

Oxleas would like to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for a permanent post of Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our friendly and forward-looking Community Paediatric team.

Oxleas is a high performing Foundation Trust providing Community Adult and Paediatric Health Services for Bexley and Greenwich, mental health and learning disability services across the London Boroughs of Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich as well as Forensic and Challenging Behaviour services for these boroughs plus Lewisham and North Southwark.

About Greenwich Community Paediatric Services

The Community Paediatric team includes 5wte Consultants, 5.35wte experienced Specialty Doctors, 1wte Specialty Trainee and 0.4wte Clinical Psychologist. The service provides a wide range of community paediatric work, including complex Neurodisability and statutory services. The department actively supports continuing professional development of its staff – including any additional training needed to help achieve personal and professional goals. We have a strong commitment to patient safety and positive patient experience. Candidates who have other special interests will be encouraged to develop them and a job planning meeting will be offered with the lead consultant, within 3 months of taking up appointment.

You should be an enthusiastic and innovative clinician with the vision to develop new models of working in response to an increasing and changing community based demands. You should either be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of your expected CCT date at the time of interview.

Retention Incentive

We are offering a retention incentive in addition to the Consultant salary and London weighting. Because we want to recruit the very best team, we are offering external new starters a retention incentive of £5,000 when they start and commit to working with us for one year. Beyond that, a further £5,000 will be paid if a commitment is made to remain in post for a further two years. Any payment made will be on a pro rata basis for part time appointments.Interviews will take place on: 23rd October 2019
