An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2.8 WTE Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to join Enfield CAMHS with a possibility for a split post between our Generic Team and our Child Development Team. The posts are for both teams. We would welcome options of split posts between the two teams or full/part-time in one.

The Generic & Neurodevelopmental (NDS) Team provides a comprehensive range of assessment and therapeutic interventions, and consultation to professionals dealing with children, young people and families with emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as providing assessment and treatment for Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. As part of the Generic team we have also an opportunity to work with children under 5 and their parents/carers within the local Children’s Centres.

Child Development Team (CDT) is a paediatrician-led MDT which includes specialist CAMHS Clinical Psychology provision for the assessment and treatment of Autism and other neuro-developmental conditions in young children up to age 6.

The CDT post holder/s will have a leading role in the Team. They will provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention to young people and families, line management and clinical supervision to the CDT Band 7 Clinical Psychologist and will play a lead role in the development of the service. Previous experience of psychological assessment and intervention for CYPF with neurodevelopmental and other developmental difficulties is essential.

The Generic post holder/s will provide access/referral screening and management, conduct assessments and deliver psychological therapies for a broad range of mental health conditions meeting specialist CAMHS criteria. The role is mainly clinic-based and will focus on the delivery of timely, high quality interventions. The Generic post holder/s will have a leading role in the team and will be expected to provide management and clinical supervision to other clinicians and trainees.

In both posts there will be opportunities to work with and develop links with schools, GPs, Social Care and other community services. Enfield CAMHS is a central part of a local CYP-IAPT partnership, and our local transformation plan draws on the Thrive approach to delivery of care for young people. Our Service is committed to evidence-informed practice, young people’s participation and utilising outcome measures.

These posts will appeal to skilled CAMHS clinicians with UK Professional registration with the HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist who enjoy a mix of generic and specialist work in dynamic, quality focussed CAMHS teams.

We will support individuals to develop specialist skills and pursue specific areas of interest or service development projects where appropriate. We also hold regular CPD and service development days across the whole service.
