We are looking for a recovery-focused, creative and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Great Yarmouth and Waveney Acute Services. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with a strong background in mental health and Occupational Therapy to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Occupational Therapy programme offered to patients on the 18 bedded acute ward as well as patients receiving prescribed Occupational Therapy treatment under the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT). Applicants should expect to work simultaneously with both inpatients and day patients to assess, organise and facilitate therapeutic interventions within the OT programme as well as one-to-one based treatments.

The programme consists of arts and crafts, photography group walks, anxiety management, relaxation, baking and much more. You will be expected to screen each patient to assess their meaningful occupations and recovery goals on the ward. You will be expected to complete Activity of Daily Living Assessments through home visits, observational assessments and discussions with the patient, multi-disciplinary team and carers.

You will need to work with minimal supervision and be passionate and proactive when developing the Occupational Therapy Service. The Occupational therapy team consists of Assistant Practitioners and volunteers who work closely with other services and external agencies such as Stop Smoking Advisors, Peer Support Workers, The Recovery College and the Trust Chaplain.

This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
