Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

There has never been a more exciting time to join us at Cardiff and Vale UHB. Our maternity unit provides support to approximately 6000 families each year, caring for women and their babies, including the specialist requirements of women referred to us as a regional centre of excellence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife Sonographer to join our team. As a member of our maternity unit you will be part of a dynamic service and will help us to excel further. You will provide midwife led services as well as supporting consultant clinics.

The Growth Assessment Protocol (GAP) is mandated by Welsh Government and is embedded within our service, however the opportunity to drive this improvement project forward will be expected.

To enable us to continue to achieve these results and to take the service forward, we are looking for an innovative candidate to utilise extensive women centred midwifery and ultrasound skills to provide evidence based care to women in their pregnancy.

The successful candidate will provide professional advice, support and leadership to the multi-professional team. They will be expected to lead and promote education and staff development for the continued professional growth of the multi-professional team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
