Maternity Leave Fixed Term for 12 months

Full time 37.5 hours per week

A very exciting opportunity has arisen to provide maternity leave cover for a year in Bexley CAMHS as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist. This is a time of change; we are seeking to ensure there is the clinical expertise to support a whole service improvement to the patient journey. This post ensures an increase in the number of experienced clinicians. We seek to appoint a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist to provide a clinical psychology service to children, young people and their families referred to specialist CAMHS in Bexley. The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for a colleague ready to step up to a more senior position and to make a contribution to the continued development and improvement of clinical services.

The post holder needs doctoral level training in clinical psychology with strong post-qualification expertise in CAMHS including experience of CBT and other interventions across a range of presentations. You must have current registration with the HCPC and be appointable to Band 8a under Agenda for Change.

You will provide psychological assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and manage a complex caseload. You will need to have experience of supervision as the post also involves clinical supervision of assistant psychologist and trainees as well as Band 7 Psychologists and occasionally other multi-disciplinary colleagues.

Bexley CAMHS works to CYP-IAPT principles. The post holder will be expected to support and assist the core aims within the service both in direct clinical work and as a positive member of the multi-disciplinary team and wider service.

Bexley CAMHS is a friendly, busy and thriving CYP IAPT service, regarded as an accessible and effective service. Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, learning disabilities and community services to the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich. The Trust has recently been rated as Good by the CQC and has a culture of supporting staff whilst providing excellent services within a robust clinical governance framework. The clinical psychology discipline within Bexley CAMHS is led by Dr Sarah Harmon, the profession is well regarded within the Trust as a whole and there are excellent CPD opportunities.
