Job Reference: 377-CORP26964

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Ridings Building
£17,652 - £19,020 pro rata per annum

Thank you for your interest in a post at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Every employee at the Trust strives to provide excellent patient experience every single time. We strive to be an excellent employer for every one of our employees from the day they apply for employment with us. We have four core values, developed by our staff, and these are at the heart of everything we do to enable us to deliver our ambitions of excellence. You can find out more about our vision and values from our videos and website, which you can access via this page.

Fancy a role where you will make a difference to the lives of patients, carers, visitors and staff every day? If so, have you considered working in MY voluntary services café, at Dewsbury Hospital?

We can offer you variety and challenge, in a busy but fun environment, representing the Trust as first point of contact with customers and volunteers. As part of the voluntary services team, the role is to provide a friendly, welcoming café service whilst maintaining and developing the voluntary services catering and retail outlet; this post is primarily based at the Pinderfields site.

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing individual who shares our core Trust values; who is organised and has experience of organising a café or retail shop environment. You will need to be able to communicate information to customers and volunteers clearly, so it is important for you to have had experience in a busy customer facing environment. An interest in voluntary work and an understanding of the needs of those who volunteer is essential as the catering/retail outlet is provided by volunteers.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the outlet, supporting volunteers and maintaining the volunteer shift rota ensuring cover for holidays and sickness. Skills required include stock management and IT/administration as well as experience of coffee machines, tills and cashing up.

This is a 12 hour per week post; the hours are to be worked 6 hours per day Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 4pm; with occasional weekday working to cover staff absence Monday to Friday.

The hourly rate is £9.027 per hour plus hourly enhancement for working weekends. Any overtime up to 37.5 hours per week is paid at basic rate of £9.027 per hour.

If you would like to find out more about the role or arrange an informal visit to the cafe, please telephone the voluntary services office on 01924 543451.
