Carers Information and Support Service (CISS), The Calvert Centre, Calvert Lane, HU4 6BH (please note that this is only where the minibus is stored, and this role involves driving to several locations across Hull and/or East Riding)

Driving licence requirements

All volunteer drivers of the minibus must have a category B licence, over the age of 25 and must of had their licence for a minimum of two years.

If you are driving the minibus, you will be covered by the vehicles insurance. However on the odd occasion you may be asked to use your own vehicle. You will also be expected to have your licence checked for endorsements, and will have to inform your insurance company that you are using your vehicle for volunteering purposes.


Time commitment

  • 2-4 hours

  • Minimum of once every two months



The objectives are

  • To increase access to support for patients/service users

  • To help with the transportation of individuals who cannot access any other form of transport

  • To provide valuable admin experience for volunteers

CHCP are looking for a volunteer to drive our minibus for patients, volunteers and service events. This role is a great way to get out into the community and help those who need it the most.



The volunteer will help with:

  • Safely driving volunteers to and from set locations

  • Helping people get on and off the minibus safely

  • Keeping the minibus clean and tidy

  • Performing daily/weekly/monthly safety checks on the minibus and reporting any concerns
