Pay Scale: YC72 £77,913 - £105,042

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who has an interest in minimal access surgery and gynaecological outpatient procedures to join our team based at Ormskirk Hospital.

You will be expected to play a full part in the development of all aspects of our maternity care, working closely with the Head of Midwifery, Consultant Midwife and maternity matron. We expect you to develop your skills and will support you in doing so with our experienced team of Consultants.

You will join an impressive team of clinicians who have held posts in various regional and national positions in the specialty and more widely. As well as providing a Consultant led labour ward with 60 hours of Consultant cover, which supports a level 2 neonatal unit, the unit also provides general and emergency gynaecology supporting special interests in colposcopy, urodynamics, infertility and a specialist menopause service.

The department delivers a service principally to local women in the catchments of the two sites and maintains excellent links with local G.Ps.

The post-holder will be expected to participate equally with their consultant colleagues in a 1:9 on-call rota for obstetrics, emergency gynaecology and delivery suite.

This role will initially be for a contract of 10.5 pa which is a temporary increase for a period of 6-12 months from the standard 10 pa contract.
