Manchester Health and Care Commissioning is a single commissioner for health and social care, comprising a partnership between Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group and Manchester City Council.

Secondment Opportunity – available from mid-September and extending to 31st March 2020

The Interim Head of Operations & Governance will support the Chief Officer of the Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership in ensuring the effective operation of the partnership team during a period of transition as a new permanent senior management structure is put in place.

You will ensure the Partnership governance is appropriately and effectively serviced, including maintaining the forward agenda. Acting as a key point of liaison with other system leaders in GM, you will work with the sectoral representative groups to ensure that the Partnership’s work advances in a timely and appropriate way and will contribute to the assurance of the GM system, in particular by taking on special projects and investigations on behalf of the Chief Officer.

This varied work will often be sensitive in nature and will require significant liaison with senior leaders in health and social care to engage leaders across GM on behalf of the partnership executive team to negotiate challenging issues, build consensus across the wider partnership and drive delivery as may be required.

In this role you will have opportunity to shape emerging priorities and accelerate delivery, plan the work of the Partnership through the governance structure, ensure that the integrity of the governance structure is maintained and working effectively, including ensuring appropriate secretariat arrangements are in place.

To be successful in this role, you will need highly developed relationship skills, a proven ability to negotiate, manage and influence both internally and externally, a strong grasp on IG arrangements and the ability to work with executive leads to ensure that the right policies are in place and being adhered to across the partnership team. You will be expected to work flexibly and support other organisational priorities as necessary which may include contribution to the on-call rota, subject to discussion.
