Birmingham Dental Hospital is part of Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust. It works in partnership with the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in the delivery of internationally recognised clinical services, education and research. The new dental hospital and school opened in April 2016 and enjoys state-of-the-art facilities which support world-class patient care, research, teaching and training for future generations of dental students and dental specialist trainees treating over 100,000 patients each year.

This post is for a Registered Qualified Dental Technician to work full time at Band 6 within the Crown and Bridge with the responsibility of overseeing CAD-CAM work in the Integrated Dental Laboratory at the Birmingham Dental Hospital and School.

The duties will involve comprehensive support to qualified clinicians in the delivery of a comprehensive range of fixed, functional and bespoke appliances.

The candidate must hold a BTEC or HNC or BSc in Dental Technology and be registered with the GDC.

An awareness of CAD-CAM scanning and design is essential, and the ability to work within a team under pressure, to communicate effectively with fellow technicians and clinicians.

Interviews are planned for 12 and 13 September and the selection process will involve a skills test and interview.
