And right now, we’re looking for a senior physiotherapist to join our Community Neuro Rehab Team at Bickerstaffe House, Ormskirk District General Hospital to help us continue to change things for the better.

Our vacancy

The Community Neuro Rehab Team provides rehabilitation in the community for adults with complex long term neurological conditions. The team consists of a speech and language therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and a rehabilitation assistant. We work closely with other health and social care colleagues and voluntary organisations to provide person centred care.

The service provides a 5 day service between the hours of 08.00 – 16.00 and provides planned therapy interventions in service users’ homes, place of residence or within the local community across West Lancashire.

We are seeking a full time fixed term and 6 physiotherapist for 7 months.

The successful candidate will undertake specialist person-centred assessment, rehabilitation and management for people with long term neurological conditions including the promotion of health and prevention of secondary complications. They will visit service users at home or in the community and work in collaboration with the team, family members, carers and other appropriate services to achieve person centred goals and promote independence and wellbeing. Your personal and professional development will be supported and encouraged in this role.

You must have the relevant professional qualification and be registered with HCPC. It is essential that you have experience of providing rehabilitation within a multidisciplinary team and have experience of working in a community setting and with neurological conditions. You must have evidence of relevant post graduate learning and development and demonstrate that your clinical practice is person centred and evidence based. The ability to work as part of a team, show initiative and be flexible in your work is essential. You must have good communication skills and be able to relate to people in sometimes challenging and complex situations.
