HMP Humber is a male category C resettlement prison, situated just outside of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s village, South Cave. The location boasts excellent travel links, with the A63 and the M62 being less than a 10 minute drive away.

CHCP CIC currently provides integrated offender healthcare services across HMP Hull and HMP Humber. We deliver a community-based model, bringing clinical expertise to the patients in our care, working closely with the multi-agency workforce. We are currently recruiting band 5 pharmacy technicians to join our Primary care team, and in return we can offer fantastic opportunities in professional development and training.

The role of the Pharmacy Technician within Offender Health at HMP Humber is at an exciting and pivotal time. The small team of Technicians is rapidly growing and taking the lead in service development around medicines management and safe administration. The team sit within the Primary Care team, and will work alongside Nurses, Healthcare assistants and nursing associates in order to provide integrated and coordinated care, involving all disciplines and expertise. The Primary care team also work closely alongside our onsite Pharmacy, which is provided by Focus Healthcare, who are sub-contracted by City Healthcare Partnership.

As the ideal candidate, you will have experience in either Prison, retail or hospital pharmacy, and either hold, or be willing to work towards an accuracy checking qualification. You will demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised and be motivated to provide a high standard of patient care. You will have the ability to use innovation and creativity in order to drive our service forward and implement new ways of working.

As an experienced candidate, your role will involve comprehensive medication management within the prison environment, including the management and administration of Controlled drugs. Experience in working with substance misuse clients would be beneficial, but not essential.

The Candidate will have an NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical science, and hold a live registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
