HMP Humber is a male category C resettlement prison, situated just outside of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s village, South Cave. The location boasts excellent travel links, with the A63 and the M62 being less than a 10 minute drive away. Hull, The UK city of culture 2017 is just 20 minutes away, with Doncaster, York and Leeds all being less than an hour’s drive away. The area is also served by good public transport links, with a bus stop being within metres of the prison entrance, and the nearest railway station less than 5 miles away. 

CHCP CIC currently provides integrated offender healthcare services across HMP Hull and HMP Humber. We deliver a community-based model, bringing clinical expertise to the patients in our care, working closely with the multi-agency workforce. We are currently recruiting band 3 Senior Healthcare assistants to join our Primary care team.

If you’re looking for a varied, challenging and satisfying role, this is the one for you. In a typical day, the Offender health Senior Healthcare assistant will carry out a variety of health interventions, such as Health screening, autonomous medication administration, advanced phlebotomy, smoking cessation, blood borne virus testing and sexual health screening.  The primary care Senior Healthcare assistant also participates in the provision and chaperoning of visiting specialist’s health clinics, and also delivers social care packages to a specified client group who have been assessed as requiring additional support.

As the successful candidate, you will hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, and will have notable experience within a health care setting, and either hold, or be willing to work towards a medicines management qualification.
