Are you an experienced or newly qualified Staff Nurse focused on delivering high quality, safe and sustainable care?

We are recruiting forward-thinking, enthusiastic Nurses to work within the Digestive Diseases Clinical Business Unit (CBU) at Warrington & Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Digestive Diseases specialises in Colorectal, Urology, General and Specialist Surgery, the dynamic surgical wards admit both emergency and elective patients. The unit has successfully participated in Quality Improvement Projects to develop patient care, student experience and staff professional development.

We will provide an excellent working environment and offers the opportunity for developing advanced skills, such as venepuncture, cannulation and Intravenous drug administration.

We offer a variety of support mechanisms, such as competency frameworks and clinical educators. If you are a newly qualified nurse who would like a career in acute nursing, we are happy to support your development with our comprehensive preceptorship programme.

These are permanent contracts for which full time/part time/night contracts will be considered.

Successful candidates participate in a rotational shift pattern, which includes night duty.

All posts are subject to NHS Employment Check Standards including a DBS check, if applicable. Depending on the classification of the post, in-line with DBS guidelines, a Standard or Enhanced disclosure will be required which may include a check of the ‘Vulnerable Adults List’, the ‘Children’s List’ and/or the Independent Safeguarding Authorities (ISA’s) barred lists.

A charge of £39 (Standard) or £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

NB. Current employees of Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who have had a satisfactory DBS check, carried out by this Trust during the last 3 years, will not be required to undertake a new one. Where staff have not had a check (classification appropriate to the post offered) within the last 3 years, they will be required to undertake and pay for this, as per the arrangements above.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.


Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
