Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist

We have a great opportunity for a Band 8c Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our innovative multidisciplinary Community Neuro Rehab Service, part of Guys & St Thomas’ outstanding CQC-rated community services. The post is advertised as a fixed term 0.7 WTE for 12 months to cover maternity leave. There will be some flexibility of days and hours for the right candidate. You will provide a specialist clinical service to people with a wide range of neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries, as well as clinical supervision and leadership for the team of psychologists across the service. You will also use leadership and managerial skills alongside the multi-disciplinary senior management team, in a friendly and supportive network.

The Community Neuro Rehab Service in Lambeth and Southwark offers multidisciplinary rehabilitation to patients with acquired brain injuries, including stroke and those living with a long-term neurological condition. The neuropsychology team provides a service within all streams which include a 6 bedded 2b level Neuro rehabilitation Unit, based at the Pulross Centre in Brixton; NETT (Neuro rehabilitation Enhanced Transitions team), an intensive post-acute service; specialist stroke inpatient and community rehabilitation; and a Neuro-Conditions Team, a less intensive community-based service. Neuronavigators for the South East London network are embedded within the service and the postholder would be expected to provide consultation to support management of complex cases.

The neuropsychology service has 2 full time 8a Clinical Psychologists, and 2 full time Assistant Psychologists, who work embedded within the multi-disciplinary service teams.

We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate:

  • specialist neurological expertise in assessment and evidenced based rehabilitation approaches
  • leadership skills, including the ability to supervise and support junior staff
  • strong collaborative working skills, alongside a positive and flexible approach
  • use of knowledge and experience to support teams with complex clinical decision making

& drive neuropsychology service development initiatives
