Clinical Pharmacist, Medicines Information

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Pharmacy Department is looking for a Pharmacist with a diploma in clinical pharmacy, studying towards a diploma or with equivalent qualification to cover maternity leave. This post will support the clinical and the Medicines Information teams ideal for a Pharmacist wanting to maintain a clinical role while expanding into a Medicines Information / Formulary role.

The post holder will work closely with the Medicines Information team to provide support to the Pan Mersey Area Medicines Management Committee and the local Drug and Therapeutic Committee. They will promote appropriate and cost-effective prescribing for a specific ward area combining clinical and Medicines Information roles.

The post involves participation in the late night and weekend rota, and in the emergency cover on-call rota (approximate frequency 1 in 15). The post holder will be based at Southport District General Hospital but may be required to work at other Trust sites on occasion.
