Did you know Central London Community Heath NHS Trust will become responsible for delivering West Hertfordshire Community adult services from October 2019? We are a Trust that specialises in delivering community healthcare across Hertfordshire and 11 London Boroughs.

We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled colleagues to join us as we build on existing models of care and introduce new ways of working. Our transformation plans over the next 12 months will include further integration with primary care, unplanned care models and a greater emphasis on population health. We are expanding the existing workforce by recruiting to the current service portfolio and to the new teams.

We are currently recruiting to Band 6 Occupational Therapist Positions across our Inpatient units in West Hertfordshire. The Bedded Units are located at the following sites:

  • Langley House, 698 St Albans Road, Garston, Watford WD25 9FG
  • St Peter's Ward, Hillfield Road, Hemel Hempstead HP2 4AD
  • Potters Bar Community Hospital Inpatient Unit, Barnet Road, Potters Bar EN6 2RY

The focus within our bedded units is on rehabilitation and recovery and to return patients home as quickly as possible. We have dedicated rehabilitation Multi-Disciplinary Teams consisting of Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Speech therapist, Pharmacists, Activities Coordinators, Senior Care Assistants, Rehab Support Workers, Care assistants and Housekeepers. As a team, the aim is to support patients to regain function, confidence, self-respect and much more.

The successful postholder will have a BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC membership. Students in their last year of placement can apply for this position. They will be highly organised with excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will have evidence of being able to assess Occupational Therapy needs, set goals, and formulate treatment plans in a variety of healthcare settings either as a student or as a qualified Occupational Therapist. Possession of UK driving license is essential, and access to a vehicle for business purposes is preferable. Successful postholders must have an ability to work 37.5 hours across 7 days per week and across several locations as determined by service need.

This post holder will have the opportunity to join the therapy rotation programme, which involves periodic rotations through various specialties.
