An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical leadership in the Emotional Wellbeing Hub.

The Emotional Wellbeing Hub is an integral part of local plans to transform services that support the emotional wellbeing and mental health of all children and young people in Suffolk and help direct young people and their families to the right source of help. The Emotional Wellbeing Hub provides a therapeutic response to children, young people, families and professionals over the phone or by other digital means, ensuring that all enquiries receive an appropriate offer of support, advice or guidance, with the aim of simplifying access to help.

Stakeholders, including young people and parents and carers who use our services, have set the following ambition for our workforce: “Ensure that you are kind and compassionate towards all children, young people and families, emphasising the need to give extra care and support for those presenting with mental health conditions and recognising that this group have their own care and support needs which differ from adult service users and their carers. Keep the needs of children, young people and families at the centre of your work, ensuring – where possible – that their voices are heard, all work is co-produced, and there is transparency and honesty instilled in all decisions made.”

You will draw on your clinical psychology experience and knowledge, including assessment, formulation, mental health presentations and interventions, and evaluation. The role will work with the Emotional Wellbeing Hub operational leadership team to develop the team and service and also provide clinical supervision and ensure clinical decisions are based on evidence-informed practice.

You will have relevant clinical experience of children and young person’s emotional and mental health wellbeing and excellent clinical leadership, interpersonal skills and experience of working across services with agencies and disciplines to drive safe and quality service delivery. You will be supported by the CFYP management team and Consultant Clinical Psychologist including receiving regular management and clinical supervision. We offer a learning environment which facilitates professional development and links with UEA.

It is an exciting time to be joining our local children and young people’s service as we develop our service line in the mental health trust and alliance work across local agencies, which the hub is very much part of. This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
