Due to a vacancy arising within our Clinical Coding Department, we are delighted to advertise the role of Clinical Information Assurance Officer here at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust

For the role we are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Coder, you could be either an experienced and qualified ACC Clinical Coder or an experienced Coder (without ACC) with at least 5 years NHS Clinical Coding experience (ACC or Time Served Experienced Clinical Coder – Pay Band dependent)

As a Clinical Coder at Rotherham you will play a key role in the continual coding improvement across the department and the Trust. You will be responsible for mentoring less experienced staff / Trainee Clinical Coders, engaging with clinicians alongside having a realistic coding workload and productivity output whilst maintaining high Coding standards, the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload and work as part of the wider team are essential to the role with the expectations of working to and meeting tight department & Trust deadlines.

ACC qualified staff will be paid within the Band 5 pay band and time served experienced unqualified Clinical Coders will be paid within the Band 4 pay band but will also receive an additional 10% of monthly salary premium.

The right candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, an extensive knowledge of clinical coding rules and conventions, as well as an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.
