Associate Director of Operations – Mental Health Portfolio Internal Secondment Opportunity for 1 year initially Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint a highly competent and committed individual , to the key role of Associate Director for Mental Health.

This new role will focus solely on the delivery of Mental Health services within the Trust. It will lead significant quality improvement and develop the portfolio of services the Trust offers. The Trust has received substantial external funding to introduce a Home Intensive Treatment Team as well being a trailblazer site for the implementation of Mental Health Support Teams to deliver care into schools. Community CAMHS have recently received a ‘requires improvement’ rating, and this role will be pivotal in working with the clinical teams to progress to ‘good’, in conjunction with the delivery of the Transforming CAMHS Programme. The role offers the opportunity to work with national and international clinical leaders in a rewarding and supportive working environment.

The post-holder will directly report to the Clinical Director and be professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Strategy & Operations to ensure the effective management of all aspects of the service. The role will have responsibility for financial, quality and performance targets across a range of services as well as leading on projects across the Trust, city and region.

The successful candidate will constructively challenge the status quo, provide appropriate assurance and ensure delivery of all service aspects to time and to a high standard. You will be responsible for managing a multi-million pound budget comprised of a large multi-disciplinary team. There will be day-to-day interaction with Executive Directors and you will form part of the Director on-call rota for the Trust. This opportunity is initially for one year but may be extended. It therefore provides an opportunity for career development and to gain an insight into such a role.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
