In order to support patient flow across the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we have developed a new and exciting Patient Flow Coordinator role. This role sits within the Integrated Discharge Service, but is specifically ward based across different clinical areas at the hospital site. The role is a key part of the ward’s Multi-disciplinary team, who work together to facilitate timely and effective discharges for our patients in the Trust.

You must have excellent communication skills, be IT competent, able to work well under pressure and prioritise their work load. You will assist in the movement and flow of patients through the hospital, help facilitate discharge plans and with assistance from senior staff identify complex situations regarding patient discharge. A vital part of the role is having the ability to work as part of a team as well as being able to work on their own initiative.

As part of our development programme, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with Henley Business School, Reading, offer a 3 year BA (Hons) in Applied Management. As a Trust, we are delighted to offer such prestigious programme which is accredited with Chartered Management Institutes . We are the only NHS Trust offering this programme and it is a unique opportunity for our staff. Normal application and acceptance process will apply for staff who want to undertake this course.
