Connect Health is the largest specialised independent provider of community musculoskeletal (MSK) services in the UK, serving over 250k NHS patients pa and 75 businesses. Our Pain Services provide specialist input for people with complex chronic pain presentations. We deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions to adults with persistent pain, using an MDT approach.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated senior physiotherapist who has an interest in pain management. You must be passionate about the consistent delivery of quality clinical management for people affected by persistent pain and chronic fatigue in Herts. Previous experience of working with people who have persistent pain and/or chronic fatigue is essential and previous experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team is desirable. You will join an enthusiastic and dynamic multidisciplinary team and will be supported by Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists in Pain Management, Clinical Psychologists and an MSK Physician.

What does the job involve?

You’ll undertake comprehensive assessments of people with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs. You’ll need to formulate, deliver, review and progress individual programmes and ensure effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge is achieved. This will involve appropriate utilisation of individual and group work options. You will work alongside other members of the MDT within the Pain Service to deliver and implement our Pain and Chronic Fatigue Management Programmes, introduction sessions and pain exercise groups.

Developing and promoting a positive and dynamic image and culture, you will be key in fostering productive relationships with key stakeholders such as local Consultants and GP’s and provide support and training to other clinical staff and students.

Our Service in Herts Valley

Our Herts Valley service is a large integrated MSK service that provides a single-point of access for NHS patients and enables a seamless, efficient MSK patient journey.  As part of our integrated community pathway we deliver Community Physiotherapy, Pain, Rheumatology, Hands, CATS and Postural Stability. You will be part of a large, dynamic multidisciplinary team which includes MSK Physiotherapists, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, GPs with special interest in Pain and Rheumatology, Consultant Rheumatologists, Psychologists, Hand therapists and Rehabilitation Therapists. The integrated service design allows clinicians to work together to deliver seamless and evidence-based care for patients and enables inter-disciplinary learning.

We deliver our services out of a number of different hub site clinics and GP practices across Herts Valley localities. This encompasses Dacorum, Hertsmere, Watford and Three Rivers and St Albans and Harpenden. There is the expectation that you will be flexible to the needs of the service and you may be based out of a couple of different locations within your working week.

We also operate out of a number of community gym settings in the locality and can provide bespoke and supervised rehab programmes within a fully equipped gym environment, allowing patients to transition seamlessly on discharge.
