Why should you join our Theatres team?

We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and self-motivated theatre practitioners to help us achieve our ambition to be renowned as the best integrated care organisation in the NHS.

On joining our Theatres team we aim to make you feel part of our family. Our culture is focused on supporting you on your career pathway. Our management team has an open door policy and aims to provide guidance and help to face challenges or concerns.

We offer newly qualified, registered nurses, operating department practitioners and skilled theatre practitioners, opportunities to progress within the department. All staff have a comprehensive competency frame work. There are opportunities for Band 5-6 career progression, whilst there is a teaching programme for recruits delivered by surgeons and theatres staff.

You can also be part of our Theatre Pioneer Team which promotes all aspects of staff engagement and involvement.

By joining our Ophthalmology Theatres team, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and will be involved in a variety of specialisms.

Initially you will be based within our Ophthalmology department, with the chance to develop your skills in wider theatres currently based over three sites. These are 24-hour facilities that provide elective and emergency surgery.

They offer a wide choice of specialties including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Ear Nose and Throat, Oral, General Surgery Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Vascular, Plastics, Breast Surgery, and Urology.

As one of the largest NHS Trusts in the West Midlands we provide high quality safe care to our patients.

Opening in 2022, the Midland Metropolitan Hospital will be the largest emergency hospital in the region, offering theatre staff cutting-edge technology to treat patients.

Come along to our Open Day and learn about our Trust, and how we support our employees to bring their ambition to life.

We offer flexible working hours, attractive relocation packages, and exclusive staff benefits.

Interviews will take place on the day, and those candidates who are successful, will be given an on-the-spot conditional job offer.
