£61,777 - £72,597 per annum pro rata

This is an exciting new opportunity to recruit a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to work within our Neurodevelopmental Service at the Specialist Ryegate site of Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Ryegate is a site dedicated to working and supporting children, young people and their families with a range of Neurological and Neurodevelopmental conditions.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Clinician to work clinically into the Neurology and Epilepsy Surgery Service and also to manage the Psychological staff and input within this service alongside those that work in the large neurodisability service.

We are looking for a candidate with the necessary skills and experience at Consultant level or with demonstrable skills which they believe will enable them to make the transition up to consultant grade, both in terms of clinical application, post qualification training, management and leadership. Well established support and supervision will be provided and further continuing professional development is actively encouraged and supported.

The post will provide wide ranging experience and allow the candidate to further develop transferable skills. Professionally you will join a well -established and innovative Paediatric and Neurodevelopmental Clinical Psychology service which provides regional and national specialist services, through direct patient care, consultation and supervision within general paediatrics as well as many specialist services.

There are currently good prospects for further expansion of the Paediatric and Neurodevelopmental Clinical Psychology Service.

Additionally you will join the Psychological Services staff group which consists of a substantial professional group of over 40 Clinical Child Psychologists, as well Systemic Family Therapists, Child Psychotherapists and Art Therapists working within the hospital and community context of out- patient and in patient mental health, learning disabilities, forensics and looked after children. Informal visits are encouraged

If a DBS check is required for the post you are applying for any offer of employment will be provisional on a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
