The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services from one acute hospital in Guildford and two adult community services hospitals across Surrey. The Trust serves a population of over 330,000 across south west Surrey. We are a specialist tertiary cancer centre, offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services to a population of up to two million.

A regional cancer centre for Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire, it is also a tertiary specialist centre for ENT and Maxillofacial surgery. It attracts referrals from across the whole country for other specialties (i.e. urology). The Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit (key-hole surgery) is one of only three such training units in the UK.

The Trust has strong links with the nearby University of Surrey and staff are well supported if they wish to undertake further study. As well as this, staff are able to develop and enhance skills and knowledge by undertaking post-qualification support and training at the hospital’s dedicated Education Centre. These are just some of the training and development opportunities available to staff.


Staff Nurse - Eashing Ward

Aging & Health - Full Time/Part Time

Band 5 - £25,424 - £31,617 pa, pro rata, incl HCAS

A rewarding opportunity has come up in Eashing Ward as we are looking for newly qualified or experienced Staff Nurse's. The ward’s multidisciplinary team is committed to providing high quality, holistic and compassionate care to older adults through the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment. Eashing Ward is a 30 bed capacity unit with two specialised dementia bays.

The team contributes to national campaigns such as “End PJ Paralysis” and works to support the Acute Frailty Network. The ward has recently gone through CQC accreditation and is currently undergoing its second Quality Mark. The team is continuously working to achieve a dementia friendly environment through multiple projects supported by the management to improve patient experience in the acute hospital set up. We aim to be a model unit when it comes to dementia care and patient experience.

The successful candidate will undergo meticulous developmental training and will be supported by everyone in the team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about care for older adults given the challenges and complexities of their needs. As a staff nurse, one would be expected to provide excellent care and support for patients, friends and families throughout the patient journey.
