We are recruiting for NMC Registered Nurses or Pre-Registration Nurses (Band 3 Nurses) who are in process of gaining their NMC PIN. We are also an ‘A rated’ sponsor with the Home Office and can offer sponsorship for Tier 2 visas for overseas Nurses.

Job type: Permanent, full time (39 hours per week)
Salary: £14.50 to £18 per hour (£29,406 to £36,504 per annum) + £2,000 WELCOME BONUS* when working as a Registered Nurse.
Salary when working as a Band 3 Nurse will be £10 per hour (£20,280 per annum) until you achieve your NMC PIN.

Part time or ‘bank’ positions also available. Optional paid overtime possible, subject to availability.

Westgate House Care Centre is a 109 bedded care home with a vibrant atmosphere where we have close links to the community and support elderly residents with a variety of care and nursing needs.

The Role:
We are looking for Nurses who can lead their shift and supervise and develop the care team to support the delivery of high quality and individualised care to our elderly residents. You will build close relationships with your residents, championing their safety, dignity and well-being, and act as a role model in the delivery of excellent medical, physical and emotional care. The post holder will also be responsible for carrying out Nursing duties associated with the role, including medication management, wound management, care reviews and audits.

You will act as a Named Nurse for your own group of residents, assess resident needs, produce effective risk assessments and care plans, keep relevant records up to date and develop the plan of care as required according to changing care needs.

In this post you will be required to work in line with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines, NMC code of conduct and relevant legislation.

When working as a Pre-registered, Band 3 Nurse, you will conduct your Nursing duties under the supervision of the Registered Nurses.

•Recognised qualification as Registered Nurse
•Hold valid and current NMC registration and PIN, or be in the process of obtaining NMC PIN
•Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse is preferable, although candidates who are new to Nursing will also be considered
•Previous experience in a care home environment or in working with the elderly is preferable, but not essential
•Good communication skills
•Ability to work in and lead a team
•Applicants must have a desire to care for others and be compassionate and flexible
