The Family Nurse Partnership Programme (FNP) is a national, evidence based programme that aims to improve the health and social outcomes for young expectant mothers and their babies from early pregnancy until their child is two years old. The programme must be delivered in accordance with the licence which requires faithful replication of all its core model elements and a high regard for quality. This post will involve working across the borough.

This role is responsible for delivering the FNP intensive, preventive home visiting programme to vulnerable, hard to reach young women who are expecting their first baby. Post holders will be required to develop high-level generalist and specialist skills to work within the clinical methods of the structured programme. Family nurses will be expected to develop therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensively within complex family situations to achieve the expected outcomes of the programme.

The Ealing Family Nurse Partnership part of the 0-19 Ealing Early Start service are looking to recruit a warm, enthusiastic, emotionally intelligent, innovative, flexible practitioner with a passion for the ideals that the Family Nurse Partnership offers. Experience of working in the community with vulnerable families is essential as is extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding children. The successful candidate must have either a Nursing or midwifery qualifications and registered with NMC at Degree level or equivalent professional qualification.

All applicants must also have sufficient knowledge of the Family Nurse Partnership research base, be interested in working in a strengths based way and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and work well both independently and as part of a team

The successful candidate if not already Family Nurse trained will also be required to attend Family Nurse Partnership national training, including some residential training.
