We are a family run, award winning care home group looking for an experienced RGN qualified Night Nurse Clinical Lead to join Byron House Care Home in Aylesbury, Bucks and to support the Registered Home Manager with the day to day running of the care home and meeting its aims and objectives. The post holder will work on the floor as a Nurse in charge to lead the staff team and promote clinical excellence alongside the Home Manager. There will also be the opportunity to deputise in the manager’s absence. This is an ideal role for a Nurse who is looking for the next step up.

Location: Byron House Care Home, 141-143 Wendover Road, Aylesbury, Bucks HP21 9LP

Job type: Permanent, full time (44 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 8pm – 8am.)

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 p/a

Byron House Care Home is a 28 bedded Care Home caring for elderly residents with a variety of nursing needs, including nursing care, dementia care, respite care, continuing care and palliative care. It is a new, purpose built care home that combines excellent facilities, traditional and stylish decor and a team of people who are passionate about care.We are conveniently located on the Wendover Road (access off Spenser Road), within a mile of Aylesbury town centre in Buckinghamshire.

You will support the care home manager to ensure the highest achievable standards of care are delivered to residents whilst working within the defined company policies and procedures and that all nursing and care practices are evidence based and reflect current trends.



  • Competitive salary of £40,000-£42,000 per annum

  • Working hours: Full Time, 44 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 8pm – 8am.

  • Ensuring clinical excellence in the home and leading a team of care staff to ensure the delivery of an excellent standard of care

  • Promoting independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care

  • Reducing Health & Safety risks and keep up to date with all current regulatory standards

  • Displaying exceptional people management skills by creating and leading a team of willing and dedicated staff identifying strengths and weaknesses within

  • Developing staff through supervision and mentorship

  • Providing and keeping up to date with relevant training



  • Right to live and work in the UK

  • Qualification as RGN

  • Hold valid and current NMC registration and pin number

  • People leadership experience

  • Knowledge of the care standards and other regulatory bodies (e.g. CQC)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Be commercially aware

  • Be able to establish and maintain relationships with colleagues and key professionals

  • Experience providing nursing care in an elderly setting is not essential, but desirable

  • A passion for elderly care and clinical excellence
