The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Princess Royal Farnborough site, of Kings College Hospital, for Fixed Term Contract Band 7 Physiotherapist in Stroke (maternity cover). The FTC post is required from the end of September 2019 for 9 months.

The stroke team provides Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients on the 14 bedded Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and the 26 bedded Stroke Unit. Both units have a well-established Multi-Disciplinary team approach and the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and team skills to enhance these working relationships. This post would suit a candidate with proven clinical skills in the management of stroke patients with acute and rehabilitation needs, who is keen to develop their leadership skills.

The successful candidate will have the support of the part time Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Stroke and work alongside Band 7 Physiotherapists in providing supervision and support of Band 6 and Band 5 Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Assistants.

The successful candidate will have senior experience in stroke rehabilitation and be able to demonstrate advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills. They will have completed appropriate post graduate Neurology courses and will have been involved in clinical audits and projects.

The successful candidate will be part of the enhanced weekend stroke physiotherapy service and be expected to participate in service development initiatives and MDT projects. With the Trust providing support for CPD activities and flexible working policies.
