Specialist Paediatric Clinical Pharmacist

Are you an enthusiastic, clinically orientated Pharmacist looking to develop a career in Paediatrics? Are you ready to meet the challenge of caring for patients from Neonatal to age 18 years with a wide range of Medical and Surgical conditions including Haematology/Oncology.

Due to the promotion of one of our current post holders, an opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Pharmacy Team at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a keen and committed Pharmacist with excellent communication skills, Clinical Pharmacy knowledge and hospital Pharmacy experience to join our team.

You must have a postgraduate clinical Pharmacy Diploma or have completed the first year of the Postgraduate clinical Pharmacy Diploma and be working towards completion of the second year. Ideally you will have some Paediatric or Haematology/Oncology Pharmacy experience but in-job training will be provided by senior colleagues.

You will also be required to participate in the full range of Pharmacy services provided within the Trust including participation in the weekend, Bank holiday and on call rota. You will join a friendly and committed pharmacy team with over 60 staff, including 20 other pharmacists with expertise in a wide range of specialities, in providing pharmacy services to children.

The post will be based at Sheffield Children’s hospital which is one of only 4 stand-alone children’s hospitals in the UK. The trust has undergone an exciting major re-development and modernisation with the recent opening of fantastic new ward facilities in a brand new wing.

We provide dedicated healthcare for children and young people, including highly specialised health care such as neurosurgery, oncology and Haematology (including Bone Marrow transplants), endocrinology, specialist orthopaedics, neonatal surgery, metabolic disease, gastroenterology, respiratory diseases, intensive care, cystic fibrosis and neurology. Our aim is to be at the forefront of best practice in delivering high quality and integrated care to children and young people.

This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
