The Role


With the ever expanding evidence for the impact that employment plays in Mental Health recovery and wellbeing, HPFT are growing their team with a range of employment roles embedded within Community Mental Health Teams. These roles will be delivering employment support in parallel to the health and wellbeing interventions provided by other colleagues.

What will you be doing?

The Employment Services Lead is a new role which will be responsible for taking forward IPS service expansion and development across the trust. You will provide leadership for all employment staff within community adult mental health teams including those working with first episode psychosis.

A key outcome will be achieving IPS fidelity within 18 months

The post holder will need to be well organised to coordinate processes such as supervision, data collection and reporting ,ensuring employer engagements , outcomes and targets are met .

You will be responsible for recruitment and staff development in liaison with team managers. Maintaining a IPS and Job Retention caseload within your quadrant is part of the role. Travel across the quadrants will be a regular requirement.

The trust offers leadership training as part of its links with the University of Hertfordshire. You will be supported by the Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy and Employment Services.

Liaising with the IPS Grow regional Lead and being part of the Regional Community of Practice will also be key in supporting you to establish a high quality service.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have previous team leadership experience and have worked with supporting people into paid employment as part of them achieving their vocational goals.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to build networks and relationships internally with clinical team managers and corporate departments eg HR and Performance team as well as with employers and other work related providers/agencies such as DWP and Third Sector Organisations.

You will need to be highly self -motivated , determined , persuasive, resilient and adaptable, modelling the qualities needed by your team. Most importantly you need to be passionate about the benefits of work to health and wellbeing for all, championing and promoting this in all aspects of your role.

In addition to the basic salary, this post may attract a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,017 and a maximum payment of £1,762 per annum (pro rata where applicable).
