Band 6 Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist

22.5 hours per week over 3 days

Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave

or Secondment Opportunity to cover maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a physiotherapist who is looking to advance and develop skills in respiratory care and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Enquires and applications are welcomed from more experienced staff and also band 5 staff who are ready for that next step and are looking to develop both professionally and clinically. A genuine interest in respiratory conditions is essential. It is expected that the successful candidate will demonstrate an empathic and caring approach. Confidence while working in a gym environment leading group work is also expected, together with an enthusiasm for supporting patients meet their goals.

The primary role of the successful candidate will be to deliver pulmonary rehabilitation with the support and guidance of an experienced band 7 physiotherapist. This is an important treatment area with a very clear clinical evidence base. This will involve pre - rehab fitness assessments, delivering the pulmonary rehabilitation group work, post course assessments and collation of outcome measures. You will work closely with a respiratory specialist nurse and a band 3 assistant.

South Cumbria Respiratory Service provides a multi-disciplinary service incorporating specialist assessment, treatment, and advice on all aspects of respiratory disease management for patients, their families and carers in the Furness area. The team has close working relationships with primary and secondary care, the hospice , Macmillan staff and all members of the broader MDT.As a temporary band 6 with this friendly, and innovative team you can expect to gain experience in working with a wide range of respiratory conditions. You will receive on the job training, and support from experienced senior staff.
